Comparing Student Visa Processes for Germany, New Zealand, and Australia


The visa process is often an unknown challenge looming ahead of aspirants who have opted for higher studies overseas. However, each country has its specific visa requirements and criteria which need to be followed. 
This article seeks to compare Study Abroad Student Visa processes for Germany, New Zealand, and Australia for aspirants who wish to opt for any of these countries. 



Germany
After acceptance of the application to the desired University, the university provides a letter of acceptance is provided by the university. The next step in the process is document verification by designated authorities. Document attestation needs to be done at German consulates/ embassies in India for which prior appointment must be taken. To demonstrate proof of funds, enough to cover tuition fee costs and the living expense for one year, a blocked account needs to be opened in a German bank. The amount specified by the visa authorities needs to be transferred into the blocked account.
Application form filling and declaration is done next and this is followed by scheduling an appointment with the VFS for the Germany Student Visa.
On the appointed date, you need to visit the VFS center and submit your documents. The visa fee needs to be paid at the time of the visa interview itself. After the above steps are completed, the application is sent to the German consulate on the next working day. The visa normally takes around 25 days to process and the student receives an intimation once the visa is granted. On receiving the intimation the student has to visit the VFS centre to do his biometrics and submit his passport. His visa is stamped on the passport and returned in around 5 days. 






New Zealand
There are 2 kinds of student visas offered by New Zealand authorities; the General Student Visa for full-time study in New Zealand and the Pathway Student Visa for students who wish to study in New Zealand for more than one course.
A confirmation offer at the institution of study and proof of funds, comprising of the entire course fee and living expenses needs to be provided. Other necessary documents involve; a medical certificate, chest x-ray, and a police certificate. For all documents, English translation is mandatory. These New Zealand Student Visa Requirements must be met before you apply for a visa. There is no Visa Interview stage in case of New Zealand.
 


 

Australia
The University application needs to be done bearing in mind the University requirements such as academic scores and English language Proficiency Test Scores. If the student meets the entry criteria, the university sends him an offer letter. Post this, financial documents must be prepared and presented to the university as proof of adequacy of funds. After this is approved by the University and High Commission, the student must pay the university fee and get the Overseas Student Health Cover as per the offer letter.  Electronic Confirmation of Enrollment (eCOE) is issued by the university when the student has paid the deposit to secure a place at the university. The student must satisfy the criteria specified under the Australian Government’s Streamlined Student Visa Framework (SSVF) for getting a Student Visa Australia. Visa application must be lodged at least 6 weeks before the course starts by uploading essential documents and paying the visa application fee.
